1.Who We Are
TalentCursor is a brand owned and operated by Hirefliq Tech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. ("TalentCursor," "we," "us," or "our"), a company incorporated in India with its registered office at 401, Plot 157, Surya Towers, Kakateeya Hills, Madhapur, Hyderabad, Telangana – 500081.
For the purposes of the DPDP Act, TalentCursor acts as the Data Fiduciary in respect of personal data we collect through this website and our recruiting services, meaning we determine the purpose and means of processing that data.
2.Definitions
- "Personal Data" means any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data.
- "Data Principal" means the individual to whom the personal data relates — in our context, typically a Candidate, a Client contact, or a website visitor.
- "Processing" means any operation performed on personal data, including collection, storage, use, sharing, and deletion.
- "Candidate" means any individual whose profile we source, receive, evaluate, or present to a Client in connection with a hiring mandate.
- "Client" means any organization that engages TalentCursor for Sprint Hire, Executive Search, Remote Hire, or related services.
- "the Engine" means the TalentCursor Engine, our proprietary recruiting technology used to source, parse, and score candidate profiles, as described in Section 6.
- "Consent Manager" has the meaning given to it under the DPDP Rules — a registered platform through which individuals may, once such infrastructure becomes operational, manage consent across digital services.
3.Personal Data We Collect
From Candidates
- Identity and contact details (name, email, phone number, location)
- Professional information (resume/CV content, work history, education, certifications, skills, compensation expectations, notice period)
- Links to professional profiles (e.g., LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio sites) where voluntarily shared or publicly available
- Information shared during screening conversations, including a recruiter's notes and assessment of your candidacy
- Outputs generated by the Engine when evaluating your profile against a specific role (see Section 6)
From Clients
- Company name, business contact details, and role of the individual we correspond with
- Hiring requirements, role briefs, and related business information shared in the course of an engagement
From Website Visitors
- Information you submit through our contact form (name, work email, and the message you provide)
- Basic technical and usage data collected automatically by our website hosting and form infrastructure (see Section 13)
4.How We Collect Your Data
We collect personal data in the following ways:
- Directly from you — when you submit our contact form, send us your resume, or speak with a member of our team.
- Through sourcing — our recruiters and the Engine identify and review publicly available or professionally accessible profiles across channels such as LinkedIn, Naukri, GitHub, and referral networks, in connection with an active hiring mandate.
- From referrals — when an existing contact, candidate, or client refers you to us.
- From our Clients — where a Client shares information about a role or, in limited cases, about an internal candidate being considered for a mandate.
5.Why We Process Your Data
We process personal data, with your consent or another lawful basis recognized under the DPDP Act, for the following specified purposes:
- To evaluate your fit for a specific role and present you to a Client as a candidate
- To source, parse, and score candidate profiles using the Engine, always followed by human review (see Section 6)
- To communicate with you about roles, your application, or our services
- To manage our relationship with Clients and deliver the services they have engaged us for
- To maintain records required for legitimate business, audit, or legal purposes
- To improve the accuracy and quality of the Engine and our internal processes
We do not process personal data for any purpose beyond what is necessary to achieve these specified purposes, and we do not use candidate data for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to recruiting.
6.AI-Assisted Evaluation & Your Consent
A core part of how TalentCursor works is the Engine — our proprietary system that sources candidate profiles at scale and scores them against role-specific criteria such as domain fit, demonstrated leadership signal, and compensation alignment.
By submitting your profile to TalentCursor, or by virtue of your professional information being sourced by us from a publicly accessible professional channel in connection with an active mandate, you consent to your personal data being processed by the Engine for the purpose of automated parsing and scoring against role-specific criteria.
This consent is specific to evaluation for recruiting purposes and does not extend to any other use of your data.
We consider it important that you understand exactly what this means in practice:
- The Engine's output is a scoring and signal-analysis aid, not a hiring decision. It never independently rejects, shortlists, or recommends a candidate.
- Every candidate who is shortlisted, held, or passed on is reviewed and decided upon by a human search specialist, who reads your background, may speak with you directly, and applies independent professional judgment before any recommendation is made to a Client.
- You may request to know whether the Engine was used in evaluating your profile for a specific role, and you may request a human explanation of the basis on which a recommendation was made.
- You may withdraw your consent to AI-assisted evaluation at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 16. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal, and we will let you know plainly if withdrawal means we are no longer able to consider you for an active mandate.
7.How We Share Your Data
We share personal data only in the following circumstances:
- With Clients — where you are being put forward as a candidate for a specific role, we share your profile, our evaluation, and relevant context with the hiring Client. You will generally know this is happening as part of the recruiting process itself.
- With service providers — we use third-party infrastructure providers (such as cloud hosting and form-submission services) to operate our website and the Engine. These providers process data on our behalf and under our instructions, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Where required by law — if we are required to disclose data to a court, regulator, or government authority, including the Data Protection Board of India.
- In connection with a business transaction — if TalentCursor or Hirefliq Tech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to equivalent protections.
We do not sell personal data to any third party, for any purpose, under any circumstances.
8.Cross-Border Data Transfers
TalentCursor works with Clients and sources candidates across India, the US, UK, and APAC. As a result, personal data may be stored or processed on servers located outside India through our cloud infrastructure and service providers.
The DPDP Act permits the Indian government to restrict transfers of personal data to specific countries or territories by notification; as of the date of this Policy, the government has not yet issued such a notified list. We will update this Policy to reflect any such restrictions once they take effect, and in the meantime we select service providers that maintain reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for the data they process on our behalf.
9.Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law.
- Candidate profiles are typically retained for up to 24 months from your last interaction with us, so that we may consider you for future roles that may be a better fit, unless you ask us to delete your data sooner.
- Client data is retained for the duration of our engagement plus a reasonable period thereafter for standard business and audit recordkeeping.
- Website form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, unless a further business relationship develops.
You may request earlier deletion of your data at any time; see Section 11.
10.Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including access controls, encryption in transit, and restricting data access to personnel who need it to perform their role. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we continually work to improve our safeguards as our services grow.
11.Your Rights as a Data Principal
Under the DPDP Act and Rules, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it has been processed
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Erase personal data that is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected for, or to withdraw your consent
- Withdraw consent at any time, with the same ease with which it was given
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity
- Lodge a grievance with us directly, and subsequently with the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16. We will respond within a reasonable period, and in any case no later than ninety (90) days.
12.Age Requirement & Children's Data
TalentCursor's services are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to enter employment or contractual relationships. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
13.Cookies & Website Analytics
This website does not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. Our website hosting and contact-form providers may log basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) as part of standard infrastructure operation and spam prevention. If we introduce analytics or additional tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Policy accordingly and seek consent where required.
14.Data Breach Notification
In the event of a personal data breach, we will take prompt steps to contain and assess the incident. Where the breach is likely to affect you, we will notify you and, where required by law, the Data Protection Board of India, without undue delay.
15.Future Candidate Portal
TalentCursor may, in the future, offer an online account or portal allowing candidates to create a profile, track their status with us, and directly manage their consent and personal data. If and when such a portal is introduced, it will operate under this Policy together with supplementary terms specific to account creation and self-service data management, and we will notify candidates of any material changes at that time.
16.Grievance Officer & Contact
For any question, request, or grievance relating to this Policy or your personal data, please contact our Grievance Officer:
17.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our services, or applicable law, including as the DPDP Rules' phased provisions come into force. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be notified to active candidates and clients where appropriate.
18.Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising in connection with this Policy is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, without prejudice to your right to approach the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act.
